- What is Behavioral Rates?
- A membership that turns public CMS Transparency-in-Coverage in-network files, joined to the NPPES facility registry, into published ranges — the low end, typical and high end — for behavioral-health facility services. Every figure travels with its payer and facility counts.
- Where do the numbers come from?
- Commercial health plans publish negotiated in-network rates in federal Transparency-in-Coverage machine-readable files. Facility identity and class come from the NPI registry (NPPES). Medicaid managed care and Medicare Advantage are out of scope.
- Does this tell me what to charge or ask for?
- No. The product shows published ranges. It never suggests, ranks, or endorses a rate, a payer, or a negotiation target. A difference between two typical rates is not a suggestion.
- Which levels of care are included?
- Detox, residential substance use, residential mental health, PHP, and IOP. Each level of care keeps its own range. They are never averaged together.
- What do I see after I subscribe?
- A national map and state list, a state panel with the published range and payer tables, facility search by name or ZIP and facility profiles, saved facilities, compare, and Ask — scoped to the states you selected.
- Can I download or print the rates?
- No. Figures are viewed in the app. There are no downloads or printable reports in this version.
- What does the facility count on a number mean?
- How many distinct facilities and payer files stand behind that cell. A cell built from fewer than three facilities carries a “Small sample” label. Counts are per row and are never summed across rows.
- Does Ask tell me what rate to request?
- No. Ask answers from the published figures on screen. It will not suggest, rank, or endorse a rate or a negotiation target.
